SiloxoShield® 1K polysiloxane paint
MIL-PRF-24635 Type V, Class 2, Grade B
A single component polysiloxane coating offering excellent durability, color retention and chemical resistance, SiloxoShield is a user-friendly, environmentally safer alternative to traditional two-part coatings for ships, offshore assets, aircraft, and in chemically challenging environments.
This product offers superior corrosion resistance, exceptional stain and moisture resistance (better than or equal to single component moisture cure urethane and 2-component urethanes) and is isocyanate free. SiloxoShield also offers excellent durability, superior color / gloss retention and low VOCs. All-in-one (1K) coatings like SiloxoShield cure with moisture and require no mixing – simplifying both initial application and touch-up for non-professional applicators such as sailors and air crews.
In essence, SiloxoShield is a significant upgrade to conventional topcoat paints, making maintenance safer, easier and more effective while protecting assets like offshore rigs, ships and aircraft.
This product was designed in conjunction with the U.S. Navy for use in harsh marine and coastal environments, and is qualified under MIL-PRF-24635 Type V, Class 2, Grade B.
To maximize pot time, these paints are produced (to some degree) upon demand. As such, very large orders and some colors can have approx. 1-2 weeks lead time. Please contact us if you have any questions about lead times.
KEY FEATURES AND BENEFITS
-
Isocyanate-Free: Eliminates hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and risks associated with mixing components, improving painter safety.
-
Single-Component (1K): "All-in-one-can" system that cures with ambient moisture, simplifying application (brush, roll, or spray) and reducing waste.
-
Superior Performance: Offers better color / gloss retention, flexibility, and corrosion resistance than older silicone alkyd coatings.
-
Environmentally Friendly: Low in VOCs and HAPs, meeting modern environmental standards.
-
Versatile Application: Can be applied direct-to-metal or over existing epoxy primers on ships and aircraft.
-
Cost Savings: Reduces costs by improved performance and longevity, streamlining logistics, reducing waste and reducing the need for complex / expert contractors.
